Form + function = fun. Equals funk-shun. That’s what we say. We also say this:
In this class we will explore right angles and geometric shapes in knitting. We will talk about and swatch many different ways of making squares, circles, triangles and other geometric forms. This is a great intro to modular knitting. In class a pattern for a geometric headband/earwarmer will be handed out. A little knowledge of how shapes are created is helpful and this will open up a whole new world of knitting without patterns. Skillz? You’ll need to know how to knit and purl, and precious little else.
Materials List:
Worsted weight smooth yarn any odds & ends are fine
#7 or 8 US needles for swatching
stitch markers
for headband you will need ~100 yards of worsted weight in 2 contrasting yarns, can be solids, multis almost any fiber you’d like to wear near your precious, precious face.

The Great San Francisco Needle Exchange Continues!
With the holidays over, we crafters can get back to the business of making things for ourselves. Or finishing the gifts that ended up wrapped and still on the needles. We’ve decided to extend the GREAT SAN FRANCISCO NEEDLE EXCHANGE PROGRAM.
Trade in your old needles and hooks for projects gone by, and get 15% off brand spanking new needles.
Uh oh. You finished knitting the winter wedding gowns for your cats, but you’ll need to go up several sizes to make those hot pants for Grandma. You’re jonesin’ for new needles now! There’s no shame in it. Bring those cast-offs down to the Princess, and we’ll swap ‘em right out for new ones.
Get clean with this awesome program. Here’s the rulez:
Needles and hooks can be made out of any material, as long as it’s not something creepy like human bone. Although really, only extensive tests would reveal that.
Needles and hooks must be in good condition.
Needles must not have “fallen off a truck.”
For needles, they have to come in a pair.
This is a 1/1 policy…so one pair of old needles gets you 15% off one new pair, not 15% off two pairs.
Doesn’t apply to other notions like stitch markers and the like.
What is the Princess going to do with these old needles, you ask?
Like true merchants, We’re going to turn around and resell them real cheap. That means that someone who needs the size you just cast off will benefit as well. They may not be as nice as the Clover Velvet Takumi highly polished bamboo needles We sell, or the fabulous KnitPicks kits We’ve got, but still, a cheap pair of alumineeum needles will still a sweater make.
Needles to say (hahahahaha!), we’ve got lots of new books, patterns, and yarn to get your crafty motor running. In fact, We just got a huge shipment of super cute patterns, including the much-coveted Beekeeper’s Quilt, yesterday. So come on down to Princess Animal, and get crafty!

Get yourself some real old-skool skillz. Like knitting and crochet.
The Princess selects a highly-trained group of professional ninja crafters to pass on the necessary skills so that the populace will be prepared for the coming Craftopolypse. We teach lessons one-on-one, for $40.00 a session, which is about an hour or an hour and a half, whatever it takes.
